Chelsea stars kicked off a Christmas fundraising campaign today for Help a London Child by recording their own video appeal. The club have dedicated the game against Manchester United on Sunday 19th December to raising funds for our national charity partner.
Help a London Child provides support and opportunities to disadvantaged children and young people across the capital by funding local grass-roots groups. One in three young people in the capital live below the poverty line and a host of players including captain John Terry, Didier Drogba and Ashley Cole as well as manager Carlo Ancelotti, launched the appeal to encourage supporters to make a donation of £5 to the charity.
Chelsea Manager Carlo Ancelotti welcomed the campaign, "It's terrible that many young kids right here in London don't get the opportunities many of us take for granted. We're asking our fans and all Londoners to make a difference this Christmas and make a donation of £5 to Help a London Child."

Chelsea also donated a series of money can't buy prizes to the charity which have been auctioned by Johnny Vaughan on 95.8 Capital FM throughout the week including the chance to be Chairman for the Day, the opportunity for a child to be a match day mascot as well as tickets for the game against Manchester United.
