Renault's Captur now more affordable KUALA LUMPUR: TC Euro Cars Sdn Bhd TCEC, the official distributor of Renault vehicles in Malaysia, has rolled out locally-assembled B-segment crossover, the Renault Captur, at the Tan Chong Motor Assemblies Sdn Bhd’s plant in Segambut. In addition to the specifications and features found in the fully imported version, the complete-knocked-down CKD Captur is certified as energy-efficient vehicle. It is RM8,200 cheaper than the complete-built-up model at RM109,000, inclusive of Goods and Services Tax without insurance. The CKD Captur is available for sale now and the first 100 customers will enjoy an early bird rebate of RM11,000. The Captur is one of Renault’s most in-demand models with more than 760,000 units produced globally since The model is the segment’s number one seller in Europe. First 100 customers enjoy RM11,000 early bird rebate “Captur has a great urban appeal with its trendy design, European safety and comfort standards, high driving position and easy maneuverability. At the new price, the Captur is a very attractive option for people on-the-go,” said TC Euro chief executive officer Kuan Kim Luen at the rolling out ceremony. It is available in a trendy two-toned flame red body with diamond black roof. Customers can also opt for interior leather seats at an additional cost. It is Renault’s third locally-assembled model in Malaysia. Tan Chong Motor assemblies’s facility has passed the stringent evaluations and quality standard set by Renault to ensure the plant meets Renault-certified specifications. According to Renault Asia-Pacific region vice-president of supply chain Kim Taejoon, Malaysia was the only country besides Renault’s facility in Spain to assemble the Captur, which proved a significant step forward in cementing Renault’s continued commitment in the country. The locally-assembled Captur reinforces TCEC’s ongoing successful partnership with Renault. The Captur continues to be a global success. We are confident that this new milestone will help propel the competitiveness of this model here within its segment,” said Kuan.
